For all my Mid-Atlantic and North East readers, close your eyes a moment and imagine yourself on a nice warm beach. Sunny with the air and waves whispering in your ears.
ITS BEEN SUCH A RIDE THIS MONTH! If I have to go out and shovel one more time I think my hands are going to fall off! I find myself inside working on my Social Media with the cold wind hitting my windows, the frozen rain turning my car into an ice cube and the snow just piling up at my doorstep. I needed to escape. I closed my eyes and imagined myself far away at whatever imaginable beach possible... didn't work. Ok, so now what?
THINK. Over the summer, I took a nice ride out with my son and some great friends to the Philadelphia Zoo. Inside the zoo is a wondrous amount of wild life of course. I started sifting through my pictures I took while I was there. I was on a mission to find a picture that would inspire warmth, love, comfort and imagination while stuck inside my little house cased in ice.
I found one. It must have been taken in the African Rain Forest area of the zoo. I can't remember exactly, maybe by the exotic birds and crocodiles too. But when I found the picture, it was exactly what I was looking for. Something I could close my eyes and relive the warmth of the day, the smell of the rain forest and the excitement of my son as he bounced from one exhibit to the next.
I opened my programs and got to work. I wanted this picture to stand out more than it already did. So, with a little patience and some time I was able to create more imagery to the picture; sharper with deeper colors. While working on the photo, I was back in the summer, in warm weather, forgot COMPLETELY about the terrible ice, snow, slush and rain that is outside my window, and escaped into my photograph. And for all my friends here on the I95 stretch, THIS ONES FOR YOU!!
